Santa Clause is coming to town!

I love that the end of the year goes by so fast but this year I wish it would slow down. Becca is growing so fast and pretty soon she's not going to be my little baby anymore. She turned 5 months on December 2nd, she can roll over, talk, laugh like no one's business, and make anyone happy (Grandma calls it Becca therapy). I can't wait for her first Christmas, she already has more presents under the tree than any baby needs and she humors me so well with all my pictures and silly-ness. In fact she knows exactly what to do when she sees a camera now...

This was pretty much Becca's favorite part of Thanksgiving, leaving floaties in my cup. (Why didn't I just get her her own drink?!) She enjoyed mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, rolls, and jello salads.

I love waking up to this face in the morning. The other morning I opened my eyes after having my lips tickled for quite some time to this adorable face smiling at me.

Aunt Sarah taking Becca outside in her first real experience of snow.

And of course Uncle Jake's favorite person in the world is Becca. They both light up when they see each other.
As fall semester comes to a close winter semester is fast approaching. Becca and I will start school again in less than a month and we're both a little nervous. Becca seems to think that she's to old for naps and baby food, she's only allowed me to feed her from my plate. I'm hopeful that Kieran will be up for the challenge of dealing with a stubborn princess all those hours I'm in class. Fortunately, until then, we have a wonderful Christmas to look forward to and the last couple weeks of no homework and mommy and Becca time to enjoy.

The snow is coming. She wasn't very happy to be all bundled up but she enjoyed the walk.

"Can't this stupid picture wait, I'm playing a game!"

"Oh, if you must, but if I die..."

Look at those beautiful eyes

I just like nakey babies!!
Becca is getting so big! She is eating solid foods and is sleeping better (except that she's in our bed). She is becoming quite the mamma's girl but if someone else entertains her she can be distracted. She loves to be front and center of everything and of course everyone in our house can't get enough of her!

Trick-or-Treat?

I was so excited to take Becca Trick or Treating on Halloween, but alas the weather spoiled our plans. I wouldn't be a good mother if I took my 4-month old outside just to get candy that she wouldn't even eat. However, we did dress up and she got lots of compliments from all the people that came to the door. I can't believe the holidays are here. Did you know that Christmas is only 7 weeks away. I love the holidays and I'm so excited for Becca to experience them for the first time.

This is our sweet pumpkin...

...and we are her pumpkin patch.

Our big girl is now eating solid food. She was actually pulling Kieran's hand towards her face.

To the Pumpkin Patch we go

Kieran and I have been very good about going on weekly dates and that seems to be the only time we really spend with each other all week. This week we decided to do something as a family and went to the pumpkin patch to pick out Becca's first pumpkin. We held up different baby pumpkins in front of her and she actually reached for the one she wanted. There was a petting zoo and hay rides and a corn kernel pit to play in. It was so much fun! I was more excited than she was but now we have a great memory of her first real holiday.

She is getting so big! Every day she learns new things. She has started talking non-stop, more like gabbing but we still try to carry on conversations with her. She also laughs now, something that brings me more joy than I could have imagined. Its so fun to just sit and watch her explore this big world around her. I can't wait for the holidays to be here and to share them with her. Its going to be tough not spending any more on her for christmas, I've already spent over my budget and its only October!

Doesn't she look so proud!

She didn't reallly know what to think about the animals

Uncle Jakob is always doing this, I told him for Halloween he should be a man with a baby looking tumor growing on his chest.

The comings and goings of Becca Sue

My little rollie pollie looks too much like her dad sometimes, think back to a post last year when Kieran got all tangled up!

Look at how big she's getting. Only 2 1/2 months and she can already stand up by herself!

We went to Becca's first bonfire the other weekend. She wasn't very intrigued, we only stayed for ten minutes. At least she's experienced it.

This picture is for Uncle Camron who serves in the marines. This is Becca's camo gear, dog tags included!
in case your wondering, yes, I do just walk around with a camera all day:)

It Can Only Get Better

I was feeling kind of low a couple weeks ago as I drove through Provo and realized how much I missed being on campus. It's so different staying at home rather than going to school like everyone else does in the fall. I was feeling lonely as Kieran stayed on campus till late evening every night, to do homework and a little jealous that he got to be at school and I didn't. I love staying at home and watching our little girl grow but I miss being at school and enjoying the social atmosphere of walking the campus. I'm excited for the winter semester to start and to be able to take Becca to school with me. Don't worry, I won't be taking her into class where she would capture the hearts and eyes of all my fellow students, just on campus where Daddy will watch her while I'm learning.
I'm so proud of Kieran and his motivation to do well, he is working so hard already this semester and we're all feeling good about the grades that will follow. But we sure do miss him when he's away all day. He misses great things like this:
Our little chunker helping me do laundry, she's almost too big for the basket!
Luckily, he didn't miss the best day yet as we blessed our baby girl on September 5th. Her dress was made by a lady in the ward who courageously made my wish come true and cut up my wedding dress to make a smaller replica for a blessing gown. It was beautiful! As you can see, the events of the day were a little tiring for Becca boo.
We have been enjoying the nice weather outside and Becca has enoyed the discovery of her hand. She can almost fit her whole fist in her mouth.
She loves bath time! In order to be sensored I chose not to put a picture of her splashing with her strong legs:)
This beautiful girl has captured our hearts. I don't know what I would do without her. It's true, life becomes more difficult to manage with a baby but who wouldn't want to embrace that difficulty full-heartedly if you got to see this face every morning! She is my proudest moment and I love every minute I get to spend with her. I love that she calms down at the sound of my voice or the smell of my clothes and she grins from ear to ear when we play. My heart has grown exponentially since her birth and I don't see any signs of it stopping any time soon.

Go Mighty Cougars!

Today is the first BYU football game of the season and we have all been looking forward to it for weeks. Kieran made sure that we were ready for game day by getting us shirts and Becca the most adorable cheerleading outfit. She looks so cute! Of course Becca and I won't be going to the game but we still support our BYU team. She's spent most of the day sleeping in her cute outfit but that's ok because tomorrow is her big game day, she's going to be blessed. With all the family that is coming into town she is going to be one tired girl when all is said and done. For now Becca and I will wait patiently at home while Kieran does the cheering for us at the stadium! Rah Rah Rah!

Back to School

Well I think Becca and I were ready for the school year to start. We have now got on a managable routine that allows little Becca to get the sleep she desperately requires to keep us both sane and Mommy can actually get things done. Kieran started school today and is so far feeling pretty good about all his classes. I'm hoping that he continues to feel optomistic. Becca is growing so fast and I'm excited to be home to watch her growth. Her and I are going to start school again in the winter.

In other news, this happy girl is not going to be so happy tomorrow when she gets her shots. Grandma Wilson is coming with us in lieu of Daddy for some moral support. I'm anticipating a very long day for Becca and I. But isn't she so cute when she's happy!

Our spoiled girl!

Becca is quite the diva! She has become accustomed to sleeping in between Kier and I and being the center of attention. She has so many uncles and aunts and grandparents to cater to her every whim that we are all in for a rude awakening when she is ignored even for just a minute. But how can we do anything but give her all our attention when she is so beautiful. She has began to smile and now she grins at us when we make funny faces.
Being a mother is so wonderful. I'm so glad that we have started our family and I look forward with anticipation for the years ahead with more children and learning to be a better mom. I just look at Becca and can really see and understand the love that Heavenly Father has for all of His children. I am so grateful that he can part with His precious spirits to give us the opportunity to raise them. I know that I would not be strong enough to part with any of my children. I just hope that I can be the mother that He is proud of.
I feel like every day is full of new adventures. Every morning begins with Becca waking me up to eat and we sit and talk and she looks at me with her big blue eyes and the whole day is filled with smiles and the occasional nap. Kieran is loving being a daddy. He has a few special lullabies that only they sing together and she loves listening. I look forward to the day that she begins to sing with him. I look forward to all the days ahead with my precious little one!

First Week of the New Buhler Adventures

Becca is now 12 days old and already knows how to command a room. Kieran had to go back to work last Friday and Grandma was able to stay with us for a day but this week Becca and I have been completely on our own. I'm lucky to have such a good sleeper...at night, but she loves being awake and alert all day, making it very difficult for me to get anything done.
I am already in tune to her different whimpers and cries and it feels so good when all it takes to soothe her is my voice or holding her close. It is truly amazing how much love I have for this little creature already. I cannot imagine life without her and her sweet spirit. Kieran and I are so blessed to have be allowed to raise this gorgeous girl and anxiously await the many adventures she will allow us to have.
A picture in this case is worth more than a thousand words...I have the most beautiful little girl! Enjoy my joy!
Uncle David loves Becca

She is the cutest easter egg ever!

Big Stretches
Kieran is adjusting quite well to being a daddy

Becca loves her hands and always has them next to her face

I love this picture! I have the cutest daughter ever!

We've already ruined her, she has become accustomed to sleeping right between us. This can't last very long.

Becca came home a little jaundice and had to be under Bili lights. She hated it just as much as we did.

This is the first sign of the Buhler toe pinch! Watch out!!

First bath with Grandma Wilson

Coming home from the hospital

Her first outfit, this is the first thing we bought when we found out we were having a girl.
