True Cougars!

Kier and I hiked "Y" mountain last Saturday. It was so beautiful with all the fall leaves. I took some pictures just for my mom's sake (she loves fall colors). It took us a little over an hour to make it up the hill and a whole ten minutes to get down. While we were enjoying the view from the top there was a little kid that starting running down the hill and fell off a little ledge. I felt so sorry for him, he walked away with no scratches but I'm sure he got some nice bruises to show for it.

It was just so nice to do something outdoors together while we still can. Its starting to get cold, I heard we're supposed to have snow by next Tuesday! NO!!! Why can't Utah have a longer fall season? I love walking around campus and seeing all the perfect purple leaves lying on the ground, and all the acorns with their funny looking tops. Hopefully we still have a few more days to play before the snow consumes us all!

Kieran, My Love

I just LOVE my sweet husband so much! The past week has been a difficult one. Kier was laid off from his job that he has had for almost a year. It has been both frustrating and emotionally trying . We're slowly working through it together and he has a job interview Monday morning. I'm so proud of his determination to go out and search for something that can support us. It's really hard, and definently not fun, to have to sit through interviews and applications! But he has been doing it and we are optimistic for the future. I truly believe this trial will turn out to be a blessing and we will find great happiness with the outcome. I love Kieran and I'm so greatful to be his wife. I love the life we have started together. The past 8 months have been so wonderful! (It will be 8 tomorrow, time goes by so quickly) Just wanted everyone to know how in love I am and how grateful I am for Kieran and for the Lord's hand in our lives!

Blessings of the Month

This month has flown by! With the start of the semester and homework and work, it has been quite hectic. So many things have been thrown on our plate, at times we didn't know what to do. Luckily, for us, we have so many things to be grateful for that it is easy to see past our trials and see all the good. I have been thinking about my top 5 favorite things right now that make me happiest!
1. Kieran (boy do I love him!!)
2. cooking (my new past time is changing recipes that I have seen online or heard from someone and making it my own. Tonight I made Potato Chowder with garlic cheddar buscuits and they were delicious!)
3. rain storms (they make me even more anxious to get home to Kieran so we can snuggle on the couch)
4. my SFL 100 class, Strengthening Marriage and Family
and lastly...
5. the fact that my hair is almost back to pre-wedding length (I don't know why I ever cut it!)

Ahhh...It sure is refreshing to look at the good things in life! Have a wonderful day!!

Laundry Day

This is what happens when I ask Kieran to help me take the sheets off the bed! :)
My crazy husband always seems to get the craziest when I am trying to accomplish something and even though I might originally get annoyed it usually becomes one of our fondest memories where we have the most fun with each other.

Wedding Bliss

Me and my man. Yeah, he wants me!
The wedding party in our 50's get up. Such fun!

Bubblicious! We had fun blowing bubbles and Angie's reception.
We noticed afterwards that Kieran accidentally took some of that icing with him. Oops! LOL

While we were down in California last week we had the opportunity to attend two temple weddings; Kieran's cousin Angie and my older brother Jimmy. They were both so beautiful, fun and exhausting! Angie and Ted married in the LA temple and Jim and Samantha in the San Diego temple. It was so wonderful to see 2 couples so in love and excited for their lives ahead, it reminded me of our beautiful wedding almost 7 months ago! Being married is so much fun and fulfilling, I wish them the best.

Summer Vacation

We just returned from a much needed and very long vacation to my home town in southern California. It was so great to see old friends and celebrate the weddings of Angie and Ted (Kieran's cousin) and Jimmy and Samantha. I loved being back but I realized on our way home that I have no desire to ever move back to California with my family. I didn't realize how comfortable I had become in my bubble world here in Utah where everything seems so...so...pure? It seemed like such a culture shock to see girls dressed in skimpy clothing and smell people smoking everywhere and hear cuss words in the grocery store. You'd think that I would be used to it since I grew up there but being in a BYU culture for so long has changed my outlook I guess. Kieran and I both agreed that it made us appreciate our peaceful lifestyle up here in Orem, Ut.

But you want to hear about all the fun we had right? We did have a lot of fun. But first let me get past the bad. Kieran unfortunately lost his 80GB iPod. It fell out of his pocket when we went to the movies and of course it was gone an hour later when we came back. Bummer! We stayed with one of my BFF's Denise, she was so awesome for letting us impose on her family for over a week, we sure appreciated it. Her girls were so adorable and it was so fun to see them all grown up. We went to the beach with Jimmy and Samantha and got to go with Denise to her girls soccer games and got plenty of sun. Let me remind you my husband is a red head.:) It makes me laugh to think that all my babies are going to have fair skin as well and I have to be prepared for lots of sunburns in the future. Most of all, it was really nice to take it so easy this week. We truly were able to relax on this vacation and we were prepared to come back.

My favorite part of this whole trip was suprisingly the drive home. It was so fun to be with my wonderful husband and have the quality time to talk and laugh and enjoy eachothers company. I would make that trip again and again just to have that time with him.

Oh the inconvenience!

I have come to realize that plans never follow through as I want. We have been planning on going to CA for a week for two family weddings and we have been so excited. But what do we find in our mailbox a week before our adventure?...a summons for Jury Duty! It was quite the shake up! To make it better Kieran said that just not appearing called for a warrant of arrest. Scary! So after phone calls and letters pleading my case the judge found pity on a poor little lady and excused her temporarily from her mandatory civic privilige (hmmm...I'll say oxymoron). Once again we are ready to go, well except for the packing and last minute preparations. So...we're off to see the bride, the wonderful bride and groom (sing along to Wizard of Oz melody).

The Start of Something New!

I'm so excited to finally have a blog. Unfortunately, I am still working out the kinks and learning how to do everything.
Being newly married, we still often get asked how we are enjoying marriage and how everything is going. Hopefully with this blog we will be able to let everyone know exactly how we are doing and share some of our fun adventures.
For example, we are anxiously awaiting our long awaited vacation to California for some R&R. We will have out hands full with 2 weddings, for Kieran's cousin Angie and my brother, and catching up with friends.

More to come:)
